Home by Nico – Thai Street Food at Home

I am a lover of hot and spicy food, I love that endorphin rush when your brain thinks your mouth is literally on fire. I’m also a lover of massive boxes of restaurant-prepped food arriving at the front door. So, I could barely contain my excitement when a large black box, branded with the words Home by Nico arrived on our kitchen counter. Inside the box, there were many other boxes all filled with exotic Thai inspired munch, as well as a bottle of wine for Victoria to pair with her meal. I pair food with Guinness, it goes well with everything.

Bangkok: Oriental City

Home By Nico - Bangkok - Thai Street FoodThe starter was a super spicy Hot and Sour Tom Yum Soup with Prawn Dumplings, and boy did this pack a punch! It was definitely on the fiery side and was a bit too much for Victoria. I happily helped out and finished her soup for her though, cus that’s the kinda guy I am.Home By Nico - Bangkok - Thai Street FoodMain was, and I’m just going to say it now, the best damn chicken I have ever tasted. Panang Red Curry with Slow Roasted Chicken, Sweet Potato, Baby Corn, Pak Choi, Roasted Peanut, Crispy Shallot and Thai Herbs. That slow-roasted chicken though. It was sensational and the best thing that’s ever been heated up in our oven. By far. Chicken is a thing that I probably eat most days, but the chefs at Home by Nico made this taste like a brand new bird.Home By Nico - Bangkok - Thai Street FoodThe rest of the dish was up there too, everything complimented everything else perfectly. On the side, we had a Crispy Pork Pad Thai, Jasmine Rice with Lemongrass, Lime Leaf, Green Chilli and Coriander. The Pad Thai was basically a cold salad, but not like the one your mum gives you and shouts at you to eat. It was a gorgeous and quite unique tasting salad with all these exotic ingredients (that you probably have to google to find out about). The fluffy jasmine rice lovingly soaked up every last drop of the lush curry sauce.

And because life wouldn’t be complete without cheese, there’s the cheese course. Dutch Landana 500 Day aged Cheese, and a pineapple and nigella chutney with water crackers.

Rice Rice Baby

Dessert came in the form a Cardamom and Toasted Coconut Rice Pudding, with a Salted Bean Curd Caramel with Exotic Fruit Compote. Victoria helped me finish dessert seeing as I helped her finish the starter. We are too cute.Home By Nico - Bangkok - Thai Street FoodThe boxes are for 2 people and will last 48 hours in the fridge after delivery.

And the price? £60 for 4 courses (with 2 sides + wine) prepped fresh in a professional kitchen and shipped straight to your door. Found out more at Home by Nico where you can order your Thai Street Food at Home.
