Down in London Town
In all fairness, I am obsessed with London all year round. London can do no wrong in my eyes. We recently took a wonderful Christmas trip to London and loved every moment, so much so that we are planning on returning in the Summer. Before visiting, we did lots of research, checking out what there is do in London around Christmas. The answer is plenty. But what about the rest of the year? And more specifically, Summer? Outside of the amazing natural history, vibrancy and architecture, there are actually lots of things to do in London in Summer. We got you.
One of the biggest sporting events of the year, Wimbledon is a must-see. Enjoy the best Wimbledon Hospitality 2020 whilst watching world-class tennis. Advance Wimbledon tickets always sell out very quickly but you can buy tickets on the day if you’re prepared to queue. Did you know that Wimbledon welcomes over 500,000 spectators every year, amongst millions of views on TV?! Who knows, you might even spot yourself on the telly!
BBC Proms is the biggest classical music festival in the world. It runs over 8 weeks and offers lots of affordable and enjoyable events and shows. I couldn’t think of anywhere better than London for classical music paired with Pimms.
Okay, so I am totally going to Pride this Summer! Who’s joining me?! I totally forgot about Pride. It wasn’t until I was doing some research for this post that I even realised Pride is in the Summer. Possibly one of the most colourful and inspirational festivals on earth, Pride celebrates the LGBT+ community in the most extravagant and welcoming way. This is one of the best things to do in London in Summer.
Buckingham Palace Summer Opening
Once a year, the Queen and co open the palace doors for random folk to come in and have a nosy. The Queen won’t be there because she comes up to Scotland to stay at Braemar Castle. No selfies I’m afraid. But lots of royalties…
American Express British Summer Time
This 10-day festival takes place in Hyde Park over two weekends and features awesome music, food and drink. The Festival started back in 2017 and has attracted hundreds of thousands of folk. Could you honestly think of anything better than sitting sipping an icy beverage in the sun? In great company with a colourful backdrop? See you there.
